Straight answers about year-round bookkeeping, entity structure, ITINs, and what it’s actually like to work with us.
Most people meet their accountant once a year, hand over a shoebox, and hope for the best. That’s not a relationship — it’s a transaction. Year-round work means your books are current every month, your entity structure gets revisited when your revenue changes, and you find out about a tax problem in June when you can still do something about it. We keep bookkeeping, tax prep, payroll, and business formation under one roof so nothing falls through the gap between providers.
Usually the answer arrives on its own. You stop being able to say what you made last quarter without opening three tabs. You put off reconciling because it takes a full Saturday. You’re making decisions on gut feel because the numbers aren’t there. In practice, most businesses hit that wall somewhere north of a few hundred thousand in revenue. Our bookkeeping engagements carry a minimum commitment of 30 hours per year, so if your books take four hours annually, you don’t need us yet — and we’ll tell you that.
Because a tax return is only as good as the books underneath it. When those live in different places, your preparer spends the first two weeks of the engagement fixing categorization errors instead of finding you savings — and bills you for it. When we do both, the books are already clean in January, and we’ve been watching your numbers all year. We know what happened in your business before we open the return.
Yes, and the answer is not automatically yes. An S-corp election makes sense at a certain profit level, with a defensible reasonable salary, and only if you’re prepared to run payroll and file a separate return. Below that threshold the compliance cost eats the savings. We look at your actual numbers and tell you where the line is for your business — including when the honest answer is “not yet.”
A Certified Acceptance Agent is authorized by the IRS to verify your original identity documents in person, which means your passport doesn’t leave your hands and doesn’t get mailed to Austin. Most preparers aren’t CAAs — they’ll take your application, but you’re still shipping originals and waiting. Ivan is a CAA. If you need an ITIN for yourself, a spouse, or a dependent, that credential is the difference between weeks of uncertainty and a verified application.
Often not — because it was structured for the business you had three years ago. Most Orlando LLCs get formed off a template, at a moment when the owner had no revenue and no employees, and then never get looked at again. If you’ve grown, taken on partners, added a second entity, bought property, or started paying yourself meaningfully, the original structure is probably costing you. Restructuring an existing business is more common in our practice than forming a new one.
Either. Everything runs through a secure client portal with a mobile app, so you can upload documents, sign returns, and message us from anywhere. We’re on Turkey Lake Road in Dr. Phillips if you’d rather sit down in person — plenty of our clients do, especially the first time. What we won’t do is make you drive across town to hand us a receipt.
It depends on the shape of your business — transaction volume, how many accounts, what condition the books are in, whether there’s payroll or multi-state exposure. We won’t quote you a number before we’ve looked at it, and we won’t pretend to be the cheapest option in Orlando. What we’ll do is tell you honestly on a 15-minute call whether we’re the right fit. If we’re not, we’ll say so.
